If your instinct is to tense up when you hear the term “root canal therapy,” then let us ease your mind. Here at Brick Dental, we use the techniques and equipment that have been made possible from huge advancements in dental technology so that you can expect a comfortable experience. And because this non-surgical treatment is necessary for saving your tooth so it will not have to be extracted, it's good to know that what you have to look forward to is a procedure with nothing to worry about.
There are two typical reasons why you may need our
Brick root canal. Most common is a bacterial infection that is sustained inside your tooth. The second is when a traumatic injury or accident causes your tooth to be dislodged from its socket or completely knocked free. If the pulp was damaged as a result, it takes our Brick root canal to repair it. So this brings us to just how the treatment is done. First, of course, is diagnosis, which includes x-rays. A toothache alone does not necessarily mean root canal therapy. But if you have pain when you put pressure on the tooth or chew, there is sensitivity to hot and cold foods and drinks, gum tenderness, tooth discoloration, or swelling, it's very likely that you have an infected tooth. No cutting is done as part of the treatment, nor do you need stitches or bandages. Drilling is done from the top of the tooth, and from there the infected tissue can be removed. The canals of the tooth are cleaned, disinfected, and sealed. A temporary crown is put on top to protect the tooth until such time that you get a custom-fitted permanent crown.
