There are several reasons why you may experience a
Burlington toothache and need to come in for immediate care. Toothaches are generally caused by dental problems which can include dental decay, a cracked or fractured tooth, an exposed tooth root, or even gum disease. Sometimes when a patient suffers with TMJ, they can have spasms of the muscles of the jaw which can cause symptoms which feel like a toothache. A toothache can be either mild or extremely painful. However, it is always important to come in and see our dentist so that you can receive the immediate treatment that you may need. If a tooth is painful when you eat something that is hot or cold, or is surrounded by red and swollen gums, you may have a tooth that has infected or damaged pulp in its interior. When this is the case, you will need to have a root canal treatment. A root canal treatment is performed while our patient remains in total comfort due to modern dental anesthesia. During the root canal procedure, all infected and damaged pulp will be removed from the center of the tooth and the tooth and root canal systems will be thoroughly cleaned and sealed. Root canal procedures are effective in saving teeth in over 90% of cases. If a tooth, particularly a wisdom tooth, is infected, our dentist may simply need to perform an extraction of the tooth. Wisdom teeth are known to cause tooth pain and problems which can require emergency dental treatment.
If you or a member of your family are experiencing a
Burlington toothache, we hope you will contact us for immediate dental care.
